Activate Solutions is based in Botswana and the UK. 

We combine extensive experience of supporting governments, businesses and organisations to design and implement practical solutions for strengthening their planning, budgeting and management processes.

We have a wide network of experts in Africa and the UK all of whom combine practical experience and expertise in our innovative methodologies.

We are also keen to support new talent and we are scaling up our programme to develop research skills and work opportunities for young people in Africa and the UK.

Our Team

Our team is led by Elizabeth Muggeridge who was born in Malawi and has worked with governments in Africa and Asia in the introduction of public expenditure reforms.  She has been at the forefront of supporting the introduction of a new approach to government budgets, the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), working with more than 15 governments to implement this approach.

Elizabeth has also worked on programmes to reform public expenditure systems and more recently supported the Federal Government of Nigeria to design and implement a programme that supports projects for girls and women, GWIN.

She has designed our innovative software solutions, working with our Software Developers and the content of our research training for young people.

Ian Ross

Ian D Ross is a specialist in complex change management, based in the UK but working internationally and with significant experience of sub-Saharan Africa. His long career spans 21 years in various corporate roles in Europe and Africa, followed by 27 years of international consulting practice.

Ian has supported a wide variety of organisations and businesses to implement complex change processes, including the Open University, Save the Children and BSkyB.

He is the co-author of a well-received e-book on how to deal with the various challenging issues in our business and personal lives that are not normally covered well in business training.

Richard Madavo

Richard Madavo is a Management Development and Capacity Building expert as well as a seasoned trainer and facilitator for capacity building programmes covering senior and executive public managers. He has extensive local, regional and international working experience.

He has extensive experience of working with public sector capacity building organisations in Africa and the Caribbean, focusing on public sector management at central and local government level, as well as design and delivery of our skills programmes for governments in Africa.

  

 

Heather Colby

Heather Colby, is the Managing Director of Global Trading & Consultancy Limited and supports our marketing activities.

Heather is a specialist in delivering innovation and impact in the private sector through growth, expansion, turnaround and change projects.

She has a strong operational background in Marketing, Business Development and Sales Leadership. This combined with her deep credentials in the Professional Services, Software and Technology industries and extensive international experience of both developed and emerging markets, give her a unique perspective in understanding how Activate's innovative approaches can be implemented successfully in the private sector.

Alfred Kale

Alfred Kale is our software developer and has been with us since 2010. He has developed our main software solution, Activate, our on-line learning platform, and websites and web based tools for clients. He has provided training for our IT interns and provides valuable support in helping to run our office in Botswana.
